CROWN WHEEL 2
Another highlight of our timepiece is the floating crown wheel. Going against Glashütte traditions of the big unrevealing ¾ bridge, the crown wheel is showcased through a cutout in the main bridge and secured with a mirror-polished mushroom pin, giving the appearance of a free-floating wheel. The wheel itself features a polished countersink on the inside, individually polished chamfered teeth, and circular graining on the top, all contributing to its visual appeal. A ball bearing within the wheel ensures smooth winding and reduces friction, enhancing the longevity of the watch. Partially hidden beneath the main bridge is a black polished ratchet shaped like a small pigeon. Steel black-polished bushings are pressed in to secure the screws, which, combined with the polished gold chatons, create a captivating interplay of light when the watch is handled. Our movement features no less than six gears total, each with individual chamfering on the teeth. Included are five steel gears and the mainspring barrel. As you wind the watch, all of these components come to life, showcasing their meticulous craftsmanship.
